How the website estimate works
The booking engine selects the day, overnight or peak tariff from the pickup date and time. It adds the flagfall, then uses the kilometre rate when the route’s average speed is above 21 km/h or the low-speed time rate when it is 21 km/h or below. The selected vehicle charge, indicative car toll and a $5.26 airport pickup fee are added when applicable.
Silver Service adds $11 per journey, SUV or Wagon adds $17.80 per journey, and Maxi Taxi adds the configured high-occupancy fee per journey. The lower figure includes these calculated route charges. The upper figure is 15% higher to allow for normal variation. Toll roads are detected locally from the route, so no separate toll API is required. The final taxi meter and toll can vary with traffic, toll-rate changes and the route actually driven.
